Element Text in course builder

Text formatting helps make your content more readable and engaging for students. Use formatting tools to style your lesson or section texts and test descriptions.

In this article, we will talk about how to customize your text.

Drag the Text element from the left sidebar, or click + and select Text.

Enter or select your text and use the toolbar.

Styling tools

Let's go over the tools you can use to style your text.

Undo/redo commands Undo or redo recent actions with text. To undo an action, click the left arrow. To cancel previous actions, keep clicking the button.
Structuring Headings:
  • Heading 1: Apply this to your main title to express the core idea of your lesson.
  • Heading 2: Apply this to break your text into clear sections.
  • Headings 3–6: Apply these to organize your content into smaller segments.

Use Inline to apply Bold, Italic, Underline, Strikethrough, Superscript, Subscript, or Сode.

Block-level elements:

  • A Paragraph is a block of text that automatically adds indentation between lines.
  • A Blockquote is a block of text typically used for quotes or key information, highlighted with a side line and larger font.
  • A Div is a flexible container block that has no default styling.
  • A Pre is a block of text that keeps the original formatting intact, preserving spaces, tabs, and line breaks, which is especially useful when displaying code.

Use Align to set your text alignment to Center, Left, Right, or Justify.

Font size Select a font size from 8px to 36px.
Text emphasis Set a text emphasis: Bold or Italic.
Text color Select a text color from the palette.
Background color Select a background color from the palette.
Text style Set a text style: Underlined or Strikethrough.
Link

In the modal window, add a link to your selected text or create a tooltip.

In the URL field, insert your link. In Text to display, edit the text that will be visible to users. Optionally, add a Title (your tooltip) and decide where the link will open. Click Open link in to choose either the current tab or a new tab.

List Create a numbered or unnumbered list using multiple lines of text.
Alignment Set a text alignment: Align center, Align left, Align right, or Justify.
Source code In the modal window, edit your text as code.

Text copied from external sources may include hidden formatting or extra HTML code that disrupts your layout and content appearance. To paste text without formatting, press Ctrl + Shift + V (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + V (Mac).

If you've pasted text with unwanted styles, open the source code, press Ctrl + F, find the problematic fragment, and delete any unnecessary HTML tags.

Content element settings

You can also change the text style in the right panel and select ready-made fonts.

To customize the font of each content element individually, click Customize and adjust the settings:

Font Sets the font.
Font size Sets the font size, ranging from 8px to 200px.
Line height Controls the vertical spacing between lines of text. For example, 150% means the lines will be 1.5 times the height of your text.
Font weight Sets the text thickness: bold, normal, or light.
Uppercase Makes all letters uppercase.
Italics Italicizes the text.

Click Save.

All changes will instantly appear in the workspace so that you can monitor them in real time.
